Tyrell Blacquemoss (they/he) is a Sangoma, a South African Traditional Healer, trained in ancestral practices, certified in Usui Reiki II, and a graduate of Cornell University. The ancestral practices include:

• Conjure, the African Traditional Religion born in diaspora

• initiated as a Pachakuti Mesa Carrier

• Elder of Eanna Temple in South Africa

• African diasporic and Western Herbalism

• Qigong

• Kongo, Igbo, Ndau, Nguni, Afro-Native influenced ways of being

In healing work, I prefer every step to be as gentle as possible with information and context provided for overview, preparation, and integration. I have volunteered in advocacy and organizing work for survivors of domestic violence and abuse. In addition to my work for others, my practice is very personal and has supported me through eighteen months of houselessness, PTSD symptoms, and healing from domestic violence.

My ancestral energy work supports breaking up the unseen and enormous blockages that can be present for folks who have experienced generations of trauma. I specialize in working with LGBT family, trauma survivors, Black and Indigenous folks and those seeking ancestral wisdom. I work to bring homecoming, remembrance and sacred archiving and transmission of lineage wisdom. The energy healing and traditional medicine that occurs during a session is given and received through cultural performances of song, storytelling and individual consultations on the study of dreams and cultural practices for spiritual development, personal development and a bit of entertainment. All individual sessions are done remotely and group work is done in-person. I also teach classes on movement meditation and dreamwork remotely and in person. There is both a teaching and energy clearing component to every way of working with me.
