Co-Director of Threshold, LLC

Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Cultural Humility Consultant and Group Facilitator

Onyx Fujii (they/them) is a queer, non-binary, chronically ill, culturally Jewish, mixed race clinical social worker in private practice in Philadephia (on unceded Lenni-Lenape land). Healing justice is at core of their multidisciplinary practice where they offer trauma-informed, anti-oppressive psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and cultural humility facilitation and consultation; focusing on the intersections of gender, sexual orientation, race, chronic illness and disability.

Onyx received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College in 2006 and a Masters of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work in 2012. They completed training in Eye Movement and Desensitization from the EMDRIA Institute in 2018. In 2021, Onyx became a co-founder and co-director of the Kintsugi Therapist Collective, a virtual community of therapists dedicated to embodied and liberatory visions of care. Their professional practices and writing center the significance of identity, trauma, (in)visibility, and connection.

“I believe that therapy begins with the building of a strong, honest, and collaborative relationship. Through the creation of this alliance, it becomes possible to co-create a dynamic space for insight, growth, and healing; nurtured by both client and clinician. My practice is informed by psychodynamic, relational, transfeminist, and narrative theories and my lens is holistic, recognizing and integrating the biological, psychological, and social aspects of experience, as well as the individual, institutional, and cultural roots of issues as they arise. I have a deep awareness of how profoundly systemic oppression injures and am dedicated to maintaining a practice that is affirming of diverse identities and experiences. I have worked extensively within LGBTQ+ communities and prioritize serving those who are often mistreated in mental health settings, including clients of color and queer, trans and non-binary clients. I am committed to sustaining a social justice orientated business that aims to empower and liberate through compassion and understanding. ”

Onyx is one of the co-directors of Threshold, LLC and is grateful to be cultivating a queer and trans care space within their local community.
