Untangle Your Roots and Reach for the Stars!
Hi!
I'm Gillian (GILL-lee-en, she/her) and I provide therapy to adults, couples, and adolescents. I specialize in anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I also have extensive experience with substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, individuals with chronic/terminal illness, professionals working in helping fields, work-place stressors, relationship stress, postpartum anxiety, parents of young children and more.
In addition to talk therapy, I offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). KAP can be helpful for people who have depression, anxiety, PTSD, and are feeling “stuck”, and want to get out of a default way of thinking.
I strive to create an environment which can be both a soft-landing spot for you to decompress from life’s stress, and a safe place for you to grow and stretch towards your fullest potential.
I am able to tailor my approach to the unique needs of each person with an emphasis on choice, self-determination, and collaboration. I attempt to approach this work through a lens of anti-racism and as an LGBTQIA+ ally. I take a strengths-based, person-centered, collaborative approach to the therapeutic relationship. I believe YOU are the primary expert on yourself. I walk alongside you on your journey and use my expertise to help you to define & reach the goals most important to you. I am assertive enough to give you a gentle push when you are ready, aware enough to give you space and time when you need it, and humble enough to talk about it when I make mistakes. I take your mental health very seriously, therefore I know it is absolutely, positively essential to infuse humor in this work. It’s my favorite coping strategy! I am gentle, yet direct. I hope to help you identify patterns of behavior that no longer serve you, and to find new and better strategies to withstand life’s many challenges.
I am a relational eclectic and I rely heavily on a variety of evidence-based practices I've learned throughout 25+ years in the field, including Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Practice, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Behavioral Activation, and more.
I hope to hear from you soon!
